I Made It Back

Well, I made it back without a flat tire
I know you were worried, but why should you be?
It’s all gonna happen the way that it happens
It’s all gonna be what it’s gonna be

But I know that you care, and I think that I do, too
But that doesn’t mean that anything will come true
Except for the memories of whatever we’ll do
Not that we know how to choose

But I made it back, though, and I’m safe in my garage
And I’m feeling pretty certain that whatever dislodges me now
Will be something that I cannot predict
So I’ll just wait for it like a wall waits for bricks

But I made it back home with gas in my tank
And I just have to wonder if there’s someone to thank
So I’ll sit here and wonder if that’s not enough
For today and tomorrow because life’s kinda tough
Out here and there and everywhere else

But at least I had you, and that’s more than myself
I had you for a moment, and that was enough
For today and tomorrow because life’s kinda tough
Out here and there and everywhere else

Yeah, I made it back home without a flat tire
And that’s better than nothing, so I think that for a while
I’ll just sit here and wonder if that’s not enough
For today and tomorrow because life’s kinda tough
Out here and there and everywhere else

Oh it gets hard, and I am hard on myself
But I had you for a moment, and that was enough
For today and tomorrow because life’s kinda tough
Out here and there and everywhere else

Yeah, it gets hard, and I am hard on myself
I had you for a moment, and that was enough
For as long as it lasted, oh, life’s kinda tough
Out here
